AI Company Summaries
We’re excited to release AI Company Summaries in Console today! Determining the full status of a company on Check can be a surprisingly complex problem. To help address this, we’re launching a new AI-powered Company Summary widget on the Company Info screen in Console. This summary will tell you in a few short sentences what is going on with a company, including missing onboard information, funding strikes, outstanding tax refunds, and more.
We’re excited to make this feature available automatically and at no additional cost to partners on Check’s Standard Platform plan with no action needed on your end. Please note that partners on Check’s Quickstart plan (i.e. self-serve tier) will not have access to this feature. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to growth@checkhq.com.

Miscellaneous Garnishment Post-Tax Deductions
We have added a new miscellaneous_garnishment
type to our Post Tax Deduction API, which can be used to create disposable wage garnishments, such as tax liens and bankruptcy court orders.
Users have the ability to configure the priority order of garnishments and set limits on the disposable income that may be garnished in the Post Tax Deduction API. For more information about how to create these miscellaneous garnishments and how they are calculated, refer to our Creating Post-Tax Deductions guide.

Automated Notifications
On June 16, 2025, we’re rolling out Check Communications to all our partners. Now, Check can automatically notify you of the most important domain events that occur in payroll — like direct deposit failures or a new company becoming ready to run payroll — and will also be able to send branded emails directly to your end employers, employees, and contractors, all with no manual effort needed.
These white-labeled messages do more than inform — they reinforce your brand every time they land in your customers’ inboxes. Delivering real-time payroll updates to your customers will help you build trust with your employers and employes, and keep your customers informed and compliant.
Admin-level Console users can toggle each Communication on or off, set BCC addresses to keep your team in the loop, and consult the Notifications History Table — or our Notifications API — for a complete record of every event.
Ready to try Check Communications out? Head into Sandbox and follow our Loom guide in the Help Center to send your first test emails. We’re pumped to help you deliver a seamless, branded experience that keeps your customers informed every step of the way.

New and Updated Filing Categories in the Usage API
Starting in May, the following filing categories will be available in the Usage API, providing a look back on April usage:
mailed_tax_return_copy
– Recipient copies of tax returns mailed to an employee, contractor, or company.amended_return
– Each amended tax filing completed.refile_attempt
– Each new attempt to file a tax return on behalf of a company after a prior failure.delayed_filing
– Tax returns filed late due to no fault of Check.
The refile_attempt category was previously included under delayed_filing and is now being separated for clarity. Until now, delayed_filing was available only in usage summaries—usage records will be added with this release.
All categories relate to the tax_filing resource type. However, the corresponding resource ID will not be available in the Tax Filing API at launch. We’re actively redesigning the Tax Filing API to include all filings—not just failures. We expect to ship this update next quarter.
