Usage API

Payroll

As you grow your payroll business on top of Check’s platform, it's critical to understand customer usage of it to inform direct billing or adjacent invoicing applications. Check’s Usage API, now officially generally available, supports more effective realization of revenue. This API can be used to:

  • Understand which companies, employees, and contractors should be billable in a month.
  • Inform who should be billed for pass-through fees generated from failed fundings or wires.
  • Help assess the profitability of individual customers and the overall customer base.

Usage data is also available as monthly reports in Console for download. For more information, refer to our Billing and Usage guide.

Automatic Retry for Failed Debits

Payroll

Starting July 11th, we are moving to an industry standard policy where we automatically retry employer debits after they fail. If a payment fails, we’ll give the employer 5 business days to resolve the issue by ACH or wire. If, after business 5 days, the payroll has not been funded, we’ll automatically retry the payment. Then we’ll retry again after 10 business days for a total of 2 retry attempts.
