Refund Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2025
At Check, we’re committed to providing reliable and compliant payroll services. This Refund Policy explains when employers may be eligible for refunds of payroll or tax funds. Check partners with its platform partners (“Payroll Partners”) to provide employers payroll services.
Requesting a refund
To request a refund, please contact your Payroll Partner as soon as possible. Your Payroll Partner will work with Check to review and process your request based on the following criteria.
Refunds of Untransmitted Funds
If payroll or tax funds have been debited from your account but have not yet been transmitted to employees, tax authorities, or other recipients, Check will process eligible refunds within ten (10) business days of receiving the formal request.
Exceptions
Refunds may take longer if additional review is required, including in cases of:
- Compliance or regulatory reviews
- Legal holds, levies, or garnishments
- Suspected fraud or financial misconduct
- Other legal or risk-related concerns
Your Payroll Partner will keep you updated if any delays occur.
Refunds After Funds Are Transmitted
If funds have already been transmitted, refund requests will be reviewed according to Check’s ACH Reversal Policy and must comply with NACHA guidelines. Refunds after transmission are not guaranteed and will only be processed where permitted.
No Employer Fees
Check does not charge employers any fees, commissions, or hidden costs for using its payroll services.
