At Check, our goal is to make it as easy as possible to embed payroll. Today, I'm excited to announce we've partnered with Plaid, a financial data network powering thousands of digital apps and services, to streamline the process for connecting employee bank accounts that receive wage payments. This is the first integration of its kind in the payroll space, and it marks a meaningful step forward in making paying people simple.

Plaid’s platform makes it possible to securely connect bank accounts, verifying that funds are going to the right place. In the context of payroll, Plaid’s approach represents a critical improvement to the typical direct deposit setup process. It enables end users to instantly link the bank account where they’ll get their wages, instead of waiting days for penny deposits to hit, and without disclosing their account and routing information. It’s easier, safer, and converts better.

Helping our customers streamline their users’ experience from account setup to running payroll has long been a priority for us here at Check. And we’re always on the lookout for ways to offer more elegant, efficient solutions for customers building products on our platform.

With Check and Plaid, developers get an elegant solution out-of-the-box. You can now simply send us processor tokens for particular accounts, which Check can then exchange with Plaid for the associated encrypted data. Developers and customers alike can be assured the tokenized end-to-end process safely and securely transfers credentials.

We built this integration in direct response to the needs of platforms building on Check, so if you have feedback, we’d love to hear from you.
