Our mission at Check is to make paying people simple. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Procare, the No. 1 child care management software platform, to simplify the way that child care teams are paid.

Procare equips child care centers across the country with the tools they need to optimize their day-to-day operations. They play a crucial role in helping child care owners and directors manage every part of their business so they can focus more time on providing a nurturing and safe environment for children. But paying child care workers, which happens to be the single biggest line item for child care centers, is still a recurring pain point.

By partnering with Check, Procare can now fully integrate a payroll solution into its software, simplifying one of child care providers’ most time consuming processes. This way child care administrators can spend less time on daily administrative tasks and more time with the communities and children they serve. Check’s modern API and totally customizable suite of payroll-as-a-service offerings enables Procare to build a differentiated payroll product for the specialized needs of child care centers.

This comes at a critical time for the child care industry. Child care centers were hit hard at the outset of the pandemic, and over the last 18 months have sought out ways to help them manage the increasingly complex needs of their businesses. Payroll for the child care sector — like many others — is not straightforward, requiring a sophisticated understanding of specific tax laws and jurisdictional requirements, alongside a mix of 1099 and W-2 workers. This complexity combined with the challenges of the pandemic accelerated the need for child care center administrators to simplify running payroll by removing the need for manual and paper-based processes.

From the onset of our conversations with Procare, we were humbled to help solve this problem and enable Procare to respond with a purpose-built offering as the leading company in child care management. By fully integrating Check’s technology into its platform and offering a seamless experience, Procare is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of this community.

We’re grateful to be partnering with Procare to support child care centers in a small way by making it easier for them to pay their teams. If you’re thinking about embedding payroll in your platform, get in touch with us here.
